Golden Trip – Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

Go on a journey through the Dutch Golden Age. By looking at different artworks in the Rijksmuseum, I will show what the 17th century in The Netherlands looked like. What does the portrait of Willem of Orange, the Father of our Nation, say about him? Can we even speak of the Netherlands in the 17th century? What is the relation between the works of Caravaggio and Rembrandt? And is the lovely looking household of Jan Steen as innocent as it looks?
